Tomorrow I’m leaving for Canada, and these are some things I’ve learned in the US.
1. I can’t eat an American medium sized pizza, but small always sound like I’ll go hungry. I can manage 3/4 but really should only do 1/2.
2. Service in restaurants is just overly attentive, stop it, and everywhere else it’s just slow. Sure you are servicing customers at the counter but do go ahead and take a break to talk to your coworker for a few minutes.
3. Within walking distance is anywhere within 10 km. Not sure that applies to Americans but it’s how I’ve done it. Less than 15 km for a day is just lazy.
4. People in New York and Washington don’t sweat no matter the heat or humidity. They might be aliens.
5. Los Angeles is a shitty city.
6. I struggle with “how are you doing” as a general greeting, it just seems so impolite to not ask it back.
God tur videre til Canada!
Mon ikke temperaturen der passer dig bedre
Tak, temperaturen skulle være omkring 10° mens jeg er her. Så har lige købt et par lange bukser og en trøje.
