A man stopped me in a mall today. He explained he was a holy man and that I had a very bright forehead and the three lines on it meant I would be lucky and prosperous, also that I was kind and had a good head, but I had only reached 30% of my potential. Obviously I’m just waiting for the money pitch, and I want to see how he gets there.
So he gives me a small piece of crumbled up paper that he wrote something on. He then asks what year I was born, the initials of a friend and what flower I like. He writes it down and then he takes the small piece of crumbled paper and asks if I would believe him if it says the same as my answers. It wouldn’t as I’ve seen this trick before, and I’m a bit disappointed. I am about to walk when he asks for me to donate to sick children in need and for his travels. He did say that he would tell me the name of my parents if I gave him a few minutes but my patience wasn’t for it, also I already know the names so that’s just pointless. A bit disappointing.
Of course he had been to Denmark and knew Copenhagen. It’s amazing how many who want to sell me something have been to Denmark, some even know a word or two. I wonder if that actually works.
A few days ago I had a tailor explain to me that I couldn’t just buy an off the rack suit because of my long arms and he could make me one and ship it to Denmark. He was a better salesman though, I actually considered that for a second, because of my long arms.
Stopping for some of these people who approach can be quite fun, just to see how they are trying to sell me something.
