I’ve heard that Japanese people are friendly and helpful and I must say that really does seem to be the case. A guy in a convenience store, spent 20 minutes helping me figure out where I could get a data SIM for my phone, he even called other stores. He eventually found the answer and told me where I could go and thus ended my 2 hour search. I should note he didn’t speak a word of English and I know only two word in Japanese, it was all done through Google translate and gestures. He really made my day.
I also went to the atom bomb monument in the peace park. It’s a beautiful place, they have left a single building as a reminder. There’s also lots of monuments and a museum for those who died in the blast. It’s a quiet place, I think people walk with an awareness there.
