So Andreas went back home yesterday, well today technically, was supposed to have been Sunday but Norwegian decided he needed 30 hours extra in New York.

Since we were both a bit tired of the endless sea of people we didn’t do much Sunday, went to see the Statue of Liberty from afar, because boats meant lots of people and waiting.

Sorry about picture quality, the temporary phone I’m using until I leave north America has a shit camera.

Monday morning Andreas left for the airport to enjoy waiting in JFK. I went to a hostel in the beginning of my lower budget travel. It took me one night with constantly interrupted sleep to figure out that I’d never be happy in hostels… So I’ve had to evaluate my travel plan. Hostels are out and since hotels are obviously more expensive I’ll exceed my budget or have to make the trip shorter. Now since I’m going to the expensive countries first that’s a bit bad and my estimate says I’ll reach the budget limit in January. Will see how it plays out in practice.

I’m now in Washington, took a cheap greyhound bus, and while they say their new busses have extra legroom I can only imagine that in the old busses you’d have to stow away your legs in an overhead compartment. Luckily it was only a 4,5 hour drive in the mobile refrigerator. The air-conditioning in the bus left me completely unprepared for the 28° Washington with high humidity, and as Andreas can still testify I’m not pleased in that weather, add to that lack of sleep and I was not doing great.

Tomorrow is exploring Washington. It seems nice from my walk to the hotel, but I look forward to seeing it when well rested and hopefully less humid weather. I’ll settle for well rested if I have to.

That got to be a lot of rambling. So here is a picture taken from last night’s bunk bed.

Oh, and the fortune cookie that came with tonight dinner said the following. “Beware of little expenses. Small leaks will sink great ships.”

  1. Det jeg får ud af teksten er, at verden bare er et meget bedre sted når man er i selskab med mig 🙂 Medmindre det er varmt med høj fugtighed selvfølgelig..
